On the previous steering system, the wire from the steering wheel gear box was run inside the starboard wall of the pilot house down into the aft cabin. Since the heater is also located in this compartment, we chose another path for the hoses for the hydraulic steering system. A section of this part was visible in the starboard cabin and had to be covered.

To fix this I went to Bauhaus (a german home improvement chain store), and got a piece of rectangular shaped wiring conduit.

I used a multicutter to make a few required adjustments to the pieces. Convenient, straight, flat surfaces aren't doesn't come in abundance in most boats. The plastic material was very easy to cut this way. There had to be two separate pieces as some electrical cables

Also had to make a cut in teak playwood which the madrass lies on. After fixing the conduits with stainless screws, the was lid put on and all of it covered with vinyl.

Almost done! The only thing that is missing now is some teak wood pieces to cover the open edges!
